Description

Owing to its proximity to M33 and NGC 891, this barred and actively star forming galaxy might not get the attention amongst astrophotographers it deserves. Its distance of 30 Million light years is rather well constrainted owing to some 30 Cepheid stars.

Data were taken on Dec 14 and 15, and on  Jan 17, 18, and 20.

PS: as my colleague Gerard Meurer pointed out on FB, the "lack of attention" does not apply to professional astronomers, where NGC925 gets a lot of it.  It has an angular extent well matched to the capabilities of aperture synthesis radio telescopes and thus has a very well measured rotation curve well beyond its (readily apparent) optical extent, and hence observations of it are well used in studies probing the amount of and nature of Dark Matter in galaxies.
