Description

I made a series of 12 captures of the waning but nearly full Moon. using my OSC ASI 1600MC in order to produce a mosaic image of the Moon and at high resolution.

At the time it was 92% illuminated and 17 days and 13 hours old. From these captures I produced the recently posted image of the crater Tycho. Here is the almost full image, which I like to show cut off top and bottom as if we are looking out of the porthole of spaceship. I think this gives a better appreciation of the variety and breadth of terrains across the lunar disk.

I show it south up as I saw it on the night, and once again for Northern Hemisphere observers this will look odd, particularly having crater Tycho at the top of the lunar disk in the image and Plato at the bottom.

Version B is the full image.
