Lignan PlanetariumThe North America Nebula was the second nebula we saw the first night in the Star Party and I was so enthusiastic that I wanted to process it quickly back home, before even the enjoyable Andromeda.
We did 15 frames the second night and only 5 was good enough for stack. As this happened two years ago I was surprised to find in the folder that I used dark and flats that time...
Well, the 'flats' were done a month before the image was made...In that time we misunderstood completely how it should be done, nor to say that those flats were made without the filter used for the lights, in this case Enhance.
For stack it used two programs, Sequator and DSS. Each image shown is made with one of them but the result has nothing to do with those programs but the poor quality of frames (unguided), the erroneous calibration done, and obviously the lack in the process.
In that time we were happy to see the North America Nebula and notice the Ha border on it.
Until today we did not imagine it again but this gorgeous nebulosity has very much to offer and I hope to do in the near future.
