Description

A rare sight of the western "shore" of the Ocean of Storms on the upper left side of the Moon.

It was very humid when I was out to capture images of this combination of lunar libration that showed us a little more of the western side of the Moon than we usually see.

Because I didn't use the dew shield the EdgeHD 9.25" corrector plate was quickly covered in condensation, so I had to remove it and put it in the car with the heater on and the fan on max to warm/dry it and return it to the mount with the dew shield in place to get the images used for this final stacked image.

This was imaged with low level clouds streaming by, and the slightly damp corrector plate on the SCT, gave a faint glow around the Moon.

BTW, I loath using JPEG to upload. Only the Real size image lacks the banding/onion rings that the scaled down version exhibit.
