Description

C/2017 K2 (PANSTARRS) is a 9th magnitude Comet appearing in the constellation Aquila. Its orbit is parabolic, and its closest approach to the Sun is 1.8 AU. You can see it slightly to the right of center. No tail, but you can clearly see the fuzzy ball. Was very pleased the eVscope 2 was able to capture this with the auto settings! Taken with my new Unistellar eVscope 2 at the OKCAC’s Cheddar Ranch Observatory the night of 30 April - 1 May 2022. This was the third night out with my eVScope 2. EV mode, auto settings, no post processing. I’m estimating Bortle 5 skies. Weather was clear, light to no wind, temperatures started at about 72F and dropped to about 65F by 0230.
