Description

Galaxy Centaur A (NGC5128). We are looking at the past because the photons recorded on the camera's CCD began their journey 14 million years ago. This is the distance of this galaxy to our Sun, 14 million light years.

For registration, all the stars in this image, with the exception of Centaurus A in the center of the photo, are part of our galaxy, the Milky Way.
