Description

The ET Cluster (named for its resemblance to ET), is some 7900 light years distant in the constellation Cassiopeia. Open clusters are groups of "sibling" stars born from the same stellar nursery (hydrogen nebulae). The stars you see in this cluster are approximately 21 million years old. Some of the stars are of different colors because they vary in mass (despite their common age). There are about 150 stars in this cluster.
