Description

Images made on 12 and 14 July 2017 around 22h UT (midnight local time). The images are superimposed in a GIF animation, look for the weak point of light changing position: this is Pluto in front of the stars as it moved in two days time. This "blinking" process is the same principle as used by Clyde Tombaugh to discover Pluto in 1930.

Pluto was only about 15° above the horizon, on 12 July there was more haze in the sky and seeing conditions were also different on the two dates.
