Description

NGC 7789 was discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783. It is estimated to be 8,000 light-years from Earth, with a diameter of 60 light-years. The cluster's brightest members are G and K orange giants. Such stars are highly evolved, and NGC 7789 is estimated to be 1.6 BILLION years old, which is quite a bit older than most open clusters. Taken under a full moon.
