Description

Cocoon Nebula C19/IC5146 in HOS taken using my C925 EdgeHD mounted on my MyT at f/10 with Astrodon narrowband filters and QHY163M. The individual filter exposures are 45 x 120s for Ha, 60 x 120s for O3, and 16 x 180s for S2. The total integration time on this target was 15,480 seconds or 4:18 hours. There was basically zero O3 signal even though I did the longest total integration using that filter but the data is stacked on there as the green channel (the stars are visible but no nebula). I also highlighted the strongest bits in the Ha stack in green and added it to the three images. So my final alignment was with four frames total and the green (yellow) you see in the middle of the nebula is actually still Ha, just different ways of highlighting it. It's only the stars that have the O3 signal in them. I could've done a better job of aligning the different filters but I wanted to be done with target before I left for my solar eclipse hunting trip.

PS: IMO, this is the worst image I've ever done since I started AP (as opposed to EAA). The problem with setting up and taking down every time is that I'm getting too old to lift the C925 each time (esp. when it is cold, with bugs, etc.) . I did manage to do a decent enough Cocoon widefield but one day I'll get back to doing this in NB properly with justice, especially if I ever make an observatory happy.
