Description

I live too far from the path of totality to make the trip, so I made do with about 60% coverage from outside where I work. I imaged this from a fixed tripod with my Canon 5DIV and 100-400 lens. Since I was unable to capture the drama of totality I took a slightly different approach on this and tried to present as dramatic as I was able considering the conditions. Please excuse the posturization from the 8 bit presentation. It's much smoother on my screen.

Shot through thick haze but an otherwise cooperative sky. Notice a couple of sunspots peeking out on the left.

I have a total solar eclipse in April of 2024 where totality will pass directly overhead, so fingers crossed its a clear day! In the meantime I'm really looking forward to seeing the many wonderful images that will be shared of this event.
