This was originally in my backyard but I had too many trees, so I tried the roof.
Biggest issue was a solid base for the pier. What I did was put two large bolts into the major structural element holding the roof up. Then 130 lbs of concrete and mounted a Pier-Tech elevating mount pier.
I also have the small Pier-Tech observatory and it gets in under code sizing.
I run DC3 Dreams Expert Scheduler and on the wise advice of Bob Denny I do not raise the Pier above roof level (gives me a 45 DEG horizon, which is plenty.

Finally, the hatch is from Gorter and drops to my den. It is electrically controlled.
