Description

NGC896 - Narrowband Hubble Palette

Red - SII, Green - H alpha, Blue - OII

Part of the Heart Nebula (IC1805), this is the very brightest part, forming a 'knot' at the western edge. It was classified separately because it was the first part of this huge nebula to be discovered by William Herschel on 3rd Nov 1787 and lies in the constellation of Cassiopeia.
