Description

NGC 300 is a large but faint face on spiral galaxy in the constellation of Sculptor. Whilst it appears nice and bright in this image it can be a challenging object to image due to its low surface brightness. To capture the data for this object required 10 minute subs for LRGB with my QSI683 camera and 30 minutes subs for the Ha channel. NGC 300 is over 6 million light years away from earth.

I also need to acknowledge the help that I received from Rick Stevenson during the processing of this image. I found the integration of the Ha data quite challenging and Rick's response to my post in the Pixinsight forum helped enormously.
