Description

My sky was clear but there was a really bright Quarter Moon washing out the sky. Today I made

a list of 6 Open Star clusters that I've never imaged or viewed through an eye piece and I

marked these objects on a star chart. If the sky was clear tonight I was going to image one

of these open clusters and it didn't matter which one. I would image the first one I could locate.

I spent an hour and a half looking for these 6 clusters but because of the Moon I could not

find any of them. I could not see many constellations, only the brighter ones. Finally I decided

I wasn't wasting any more time and decided to image the Double Cluster again because I

could see Cassiopeia and I've put my eyepiece on that object for years. When I finished imaging

the Double Cluster I decided to look for NGC 436 and NGC 457 again. Although I couldn't see

these two clusters, they were located in a position that was easy to pin point with my red dot

finder. I took a test image and sure enough both clusters were in my image. With all of

that said please enjoy my first image of NGC436 and NGC457 the Owl Cluster.
