Description

This deep sky object is the Grus Trio, three large spiral galaxies (NGC 7582, NGC 7590, and NGC 7599) in close proximity in this tight 0.5 degree image. They are located about 60 million light years away in the southern constellation of Grus (the Crane) at a declination of -42 degrees. A nearby, off image galaxy (NGC7552) is often included in the frame and called the Grus Quartet, but I felt that it was too far away from the other three to include in this composition.
