M15 - testing SGP

My first image taken using Sequence Generator Pro, which I recently installed. I selected a bright globular for testing and the session mostly went well, with plate solving, centering, autofocus, filter change, etc all functioning as configured. The image is only approx half hour of RGB data as I had issues with the L data (filter not securely fitted in wheel...!!). I still have some RGB alignment isues in post processing, which is perhaps from residual coma from the C14 even with the Optec focal reducer / field flatener, but I like the image scale so will persevere.

Vers B - I added the 20 mins of L data taken at the same date, that I'd originally excluded as the L filter was not secure in FW and slightly tilted causing artefacts at edge of field, so this version is cropped a bit more.

Vers D - Based on the experience of others I decided to purchase Registar, so using this old test data for a comparison. Registar was only used to align the previously processed LRGB channels and it has worked really well, giving much better star shapes and colour allowing me to apply a bit more colour and saturation boost to bring out the golden/red stars that feature throughout the cluster. Image cropped to removed the worst of the artifacts in the bottom 2 corners caused by the tilted L filter.

Vers F - further experimentation with Registar using the crop tool to ensure accurate alignment of colour frames when combining in ImagesPlus. I used only the RGB frames as the tillted L filter caused significant artefacts that ruined the image umder stretching. The improved registration yielded better star colour and allowed a more aggressive ArcSinH stretch.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status.
