Description

Orion Rises in Autumn

The plan was to see if I could capture a few of the Orionid Meteors early on the morning of Saturday, October 21st. I did see 20 meteors in my field of view in the two hours I was outside, possibility another dozen in my peripheral vision but they were quick, lasting only about a half second. So you can understand my 20 second shutter speed just to get the stars was not adequate to image the meteors. I did shoot 318 images in the two plus hours under the stars. For this time lapse I only used the first 275 images.

I used the Canon Rebel XT 350D. My settings were ISO 1600, f/4, and shutter speed 20 seconds, at 24 mm focal length. I hope you enjoy my short time lapse of Orion rises in Autumn.
