Description

The fetus nebula is an small planetary nebula in Cygnus. His name is due to the strange shape contained in the sphere of expanding gas. It is believed that it may be due to the interaction of the original star with another star in his red giant phase. I'm doctor, and based on the form of the fetus I can calculate that NGC7008 is 20 weeks pregnant. I took the shoots in the nights of the 9, 11 and 12 in october/2017. The seeing was very bad because of the humidity. Despite the long time of adquisition, the final definition was not very good. The objet was small (1.4' X 1.1') and I stacked with drizzle to obtain a better resolution after cropping. The deconvolution was ineffective or too noisy, and I focused my efforts on getting a better local contrast into the nebula. Furthermore, It was necessary to reduce the size and luminosity of the stars to highlight the small central object.
