Description

The NGC7822 is a star forming region in Cepheus constellation. The emission nebula is designated by Sharpless 171, the open cluster in it is designated by Berkeley 59, but Cederblad 214 is also refers to this region. The complex also includes one of the hottest stars discovered within 1 kpc of the Sun. Its surface temperature is nearly 45,000 Kelvin and its luminosity about 100,000 times that of the Sun. This is the star which shapes the form of the complex. The pillar like object in the nebula shows the direction it the star.
