Using the kit lens 55-200mm @ 200mm f6.3. The stars are a little weird due to being slightly out of focus. I normally focus to infinity with AF during day and tape it down but I bumped it and getting focus back at night with this crap lens is nearly impossible.

Kept the exposure time down to 90 sec to avoid star trails.

The D5300 at ISO 3200 is really a sweet spot for this camera. I am very happy with the S/N and very little AMP glow.

Got the Ioptron tracker used: $150
used Nikon 55-200mm: $60
used D5300: $330
New ballhead Manfrotto: $90
New Contractor/Surveyor tripod: $50
Total Cost: $680
