Description

The blue reflection to the left of the Horsehead is caused by the bright star Alnitak reflecting off the SCT corrector plate. It is an artifact only seen when a very bright star is in the camera's field of view, such as with Alnitak and Gamma Cygni.

To eliminate the reflection, you can move the bright star out of the field of view. You can also rotate the Hyperstar (by loosening the provided thumbscrews on the Hyperstar lens) to re-frame the image such that the blue reflection is in a less prominent location. The reflection can then be removed in Photoshop during post-processing.
