The Heart Nebula was one of my first images processed using data from Deep Sky West's Tak 106, so I was very interested to see what I could do from my home pier in Wake Forest, NC, with the setup I've put together over the past year. You can see that one at

The image on this page came from 14.67 hours of data in October 2017, on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 18th with the 400mm focal length Esprit 80 and the ZWO ASI1600MM-Cool. Actually I threw out quite a few subs - I was aiming to get 100 frames each of S, H and O, and ended up with:

H = 83 x 240 sec
S = 73 x 240 sec
O = 64 x 240 sec

I'm still not sure where the "point of diminishing returns" is for my configuration - meaning how many subs are enough?

I processed this one with a straight Hubble palette - S=R, H=G, O=B. I did another blend that looks more pinkish - you can see that at
