Description

IC410 (The Tadpole Nebula) in narrow-band (SHO)

First attempt over two nights imaging this interesting narrow band target. This is also the first tricolor narrowband image I've ever done, since this kind of imaging was impossible for me until I acquired the ZWO ASI1600MM Pro, which I am quite happy with so far. I went with Hubble Pallet (S-II -> R, Ha -> G, O-III -> B) for the colors. It could definitely benefit from some more time, as well as longer exposures. For a first attempt, I was pretty happy with the hydrogen alpha and O-III signal, but the S-II signal was very weak so I will probably gather more data on this in the near future (although the object comes up pretty late right now, so I will have to wait until there is a clear weekend night).

B

I just increased the saturation on this version, which I think makes it more exciting to look at than the original.

C

The last revision was way too green, I don't know what I was thinking :)

E

It seems like I lose some saturation after uploading, so I'm trying to tweak the uploaded image to match what it looks like when I export from PI.

F

Revisited this image with a color combination Ruben Barbosa suggested to me. R: 75% SII + 25%Ha, G: 33% SII + 33% Ha + 33%OII, B: 100% OIII I used a combination of 80% Ha + 20% OIII to create a pseudo-luminance image that I despised, deconvolved and used PI's LHE magic to enhance the contrast. Still needs work, but it's much nice than my previous (very green) version.

G

Removed the lingering green tint with SCNR
