Description

This globular star cluster is located over 130,000 light-years away in the constellation of Delphinus. It is one of the most remote clusters, twice as far from us as the other Delphinus globular cluster (NGC 6934). Like NGC 6934, this cluster is estimated to contain about 250,000 stars. It is likely located in our galaxy's outer halo. Although some of the stars towards the outside of the cluster can be resolved, the core appears to be a fuzzball. The outer portion of this cluster looks distinctly orange, indicating a dominance of older stars.
