Description

My first attempt at The Pac-man Nebula in Hubble palette. Definitely needs more time, will probably gather more data this week, but I like to see what I can get out of the subs I have.

I also would like to capture just the stars in RGB, because I really don't like the unnatural star color I get with narrowband. I'm sure there is a way to do it in PixInsight, the only question is how many days will it take to figure it out :)

Description: I changed the color combination to: R = 0.5 x SII + 0.5 x Ha G = 0.9 x Ha + 0.1 x OIII B = 1.0 x OIII I like the hue and internal contrast of the result. Also, I saturated the colors less this time to make the result less iridescent.

Description: A very nice new color combination that was graciously suggested by the awesome and very helpful Ruben Barbosa! R: 75% SII + 25%Ha G: 33% SII + 33% Ha + 33%OII B: 100% OIII I used Ha alone as a pseudo-luminance because the data quality for the other filters was much lower and introduced too much noise when mixed with Ha for pseudo-luminance. Thanks again to Ruben for the tips! Input like this is what makes AstroBin such a fantastic community, especially for someone like me who is still daunted by the complexities of the image processing! And doubly for those of us moving to narrow band from a DSLR!
