Description

This is of Earth's Moon imaged on 120217 a night before its closest yearly approach. Imaged under calm sky's at 4 MPH which is unusual in the Northwest Arizona region. This made for rare good planetary imaging ; although I did had to fight through clouds going in and out. As luck would have it as I packed everything in the car to call it a night then the sky opened up and cleared out.

In the foreground is the crater Pythagoras with its central double peak at about 4,900 feet . The craters diameter is 80 miles with a depth of 3 miles. Please click on image to see enlarged.

This was imaged using a ASI 174mm camera.
