NGC 2903 is a field barred spiral galaxy about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.

The colors shows the galaxy's spiral arms formed by young, blue star clusters and pinkish HII regions. NGC 2903 exhibits an exceptional rate of star formation activity near its center.

Just a little smaller than our own Milky Way, NGC 2903 is about 80,000 light-years across.
