Description

=== PLEASE ALSO CHECK REVISION B TO HAVE AN IDEA OF THE CHALLENGING CONDITIONS AND TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES THAT WENT ALONG WITH THIS IMAGE===

My 1st successful rendition of this iconic object of the Northern constellation Cygnus, the Swan. A technical challenge to me: the object never rises above 20 degrees from my site. Therefore, the object is always very close to the horizon, where the effects of Light Pollution becomes more and more significant. Furthermore, the moon phase wasn't ideal - being almost full, this image was made in the short period of astronomical darkness between sunset and moonrise. Some frames ended up being washed out by light from the rising moon. Finally, bear in mind my camera is *not* modified - Even though the region shines in glorious H-alpha red nebulosity, my stock filter blocks most of it. Even so, I was surprised to see a bit of colour and a decent amount of nebulosity captured.
