Description

The area of the ghost nebula (vdB 141) - a beautiful reflection nebula surrounded by huge dust clouds in the constellation Cepheus.

The nebula itself (center) consists of numerous Bok globules - areas where the dust and gas is condensing to form protostars. The Ghost nebula is referred to as a globule (cataloged CB230) and over 2 light-years across. There are several stars embedded, whose emissions make the nebula shine in brownish colour.

The surrounding nebulosity is uncatalogued and these dust clouds are seen throughout the constellation of Cepheus.
