Description

Comet C/2016 R2 (PANSTARRS) photographed on January 7th 2018. Still to four months of its perihelion shows a great activity in shape of a unusual ionic tail, intensely bluish because its composition of carbon monoxid, and waving in shreds at mercy of the solar wind. The bright star at down-left is Gamma Tauri, the star at the apex of the V-shaped Hyades star cluster in Taurus.
