Description

NGC 1931 (Sharpless Sh2-237) in Auriga is a star-forming region with both emission nebula and some blue reflection nebula. You can see a young star cluster centered in the emission nebula. The distance from earth is estimated at about 7000 light years.

Optics: Starizona Hyperion at 2527 mm focal length and Celestron EdgeHD 11

Mount: Paramount ME

Camera: Apogee U8300 and SBIG STL11000

Exposure: Luminance: 58x20 min R:38x10 min G:30x10 min B:45x10 min Total: 38.2 hours

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing with Photoshop.
