Description

Messier 78 is a reflection nebula around 1,600 light years away in the constellation of Orion. This was captured between 16 December 2017 and 15 January 2018 from our remote imaging facility in Extremadura, Spain.

There were some issues with regard to flaring from nearby Alnitak, so some additional data had to be shot as a patch. Total acquisition was:

Ha: 30 x 600s

Lum: 96 x 600s

Red: 48 x 600s

Green: 48 x 600s

Blue: 48 x 600s

A total of 45 hours.

Capture: Steve Milne & Barry Wilson
