Description

NGC5792 is quite a beautiful spiral galaxy seen almost edge-on in the direction of the Constellation Libra, positioned at a distance of 83 Million Light-Years. This galaxy has a delicate and smooth elongated eliptical outer spiral arm which is actually the melding of two spiral arms emanating from the central bright region and joining in what appears to be a continuous ring around the galaxy. A bright red dwarf star along the edge of one of the outer spiral arms shines bright red at magnitude 9.6. Examination of a negative image shows 780 galaxies down to mag 22.5. There is a very faint mag 24 one. There are also a few quasars in the image. There is very little information about NGC5792 found in the literature.
