Description

I can't get outside because of clouds so I've been using my time to process some images.

This image is a test image. Last night I was looking for objects to image using my new

"go to" IOptron mount. I was testing the "go to" functions of the mount. One of the

objects I did a select and slew on was M1 the Crab Nebula. The mount slewed and stopped

and I took a test image. M1 was there in my image right in the center of the field of view.

When I saw the image I liked the image. Not because it was a fantastic image of M1. I

liked the image because of the wide field of view that gave a comparison of the size

of M1 compared to the star 123 Tau in the constellation Taurus. The image of M1 basically

looks like what you will see in an eye piece. However if you squint your eyes you can see

that I did capture some filaments/veining. I decided to take some more images to align,

stack, and process. Anyway I decided to keep the image because of the contrast between

the star 123 Tau and M1. Please enjoy my first image of M1 using my AT72ED Refractor.
