After telescope setup, winds became gusty at up to 15mph. Rather than waste the clear sky, I experimented with many short exposures. Calibration, debayering and stacking were done in Autostakkert!3 using a single alignment point, best 75% of frames. The AS!3 output was processed in Photoshop. It took 20 minutes to capture the lights + darks + flats and a further 40 minutes to stack on a quad core Xeon workstation with 16Gb memory. The processing was carried out on a RAID0 drive consisting of 2x 480Gb SSD (striped).
