Description

Good morning everyone. I tried to capture a decent image of Messier 91, and this was the best I could come up with using the equipment I currently have. This galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy located in Canes Venatici some 63 million light years from Earth. This galaxy is anemic, meaning there isn't much star formation going on, and there isn't much gas with which to form nebulae and stars for it's classification. This object was origionally lost to Astronomers from the Messier catalogue because of a book keeping error. Charles Messier mistakenly copied the celestial coordinates from another Messier object, instead of entering the correct vales for right ascension and declination. I hope you like today's image, as always, Clear Skies!
