Description

After a long absence due to the longest period of cloudy skies I have ever experienced, I was finally able to image again. If there is any doubt about the "new scope cloudy sky" phenomenon, I can verify that it does exist.

This object is a pair of small spiral galaxies located 100 million light years away in the constellation of Camelopardalis. Their declination is 81 degrees, close to the north pole. The field of view is about one half of a degree, or the width of a full moon.

The larger galaxy on the left, NGC 2336, has the nickname of The Spider's Web because of its many delicate spiral arms. The galaxy at lower right is IC 467, also a spiral galaxy but with a bit of irregularity.
