Description

With my Tamron pushed to the maximum, 1200 mm, I photographed two jewels that are in the same field of the constellation Gemini.

Messier 35 or NGC 2168 is young, about 100 million years old, hence the bluish color of most of the stars that compose it. This open cluster was discovered by Jean-Philippe de Chéseaux in 1755 and is distant from the Earth by 2660 light-years.

The open cluster NGC 2158 is dense and much farther away, about 16500 light years away, and is very old, about 2 billion years old, hence the orange color of its many stars.
