Description

NGC 2175 Monkey Head Nebula - an early image from my Esprit 120, taken over quite a few nights in November 2017. Uncharacteristically, I only tossed a couple of frames this time.
I have been wanting to try Astro Pixel Processor so I used it for pre-processing. I'm happy with the results. I tried to use it for post-processing but IMO, the PixInsight tools are way ahead in ease of use, so I did post-processing in PI.

I have a tendency to go for contrast and make the bg a bit dark, so tried not to do that this time. Maybe my monitor makes the bg look darker than it does on other folks screens?

C&C always welcome!

Clear skies,
Rowland

Description: Following Harry Rik's advice on CN, I used the free ON1 photo filtering program to tone down the bright interior of this image. I used the Sharpening tool and then Dynamic Contrast. It does introduce a tiny bit of noise, but I like the details it brought out, much like HDRMT in PI.
