Description

M51 is a spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici constellation.

One of the most beautiful galaxies in our sky. It's orientated in front to us so we can observe its beautiful spiral arms and structure details.

It is accompanied by a smaller lenticular galaxy NGC 5195 and has gravity connection with it. In the future,it will be absorbed by her greater companion.

M51 sizes in the sky is quite big 11' x 6'. Brightness around 9 mag makes it easily visible even in smaller telescopes (10 cm lens or 15 cm mirror).

Under a good sky, It should be visible with small binoculars 10x50

I've always wanted to make nice picture of this galaxy. Finally, I'm satisfied with the effect.

Seeing was medium - I'll try again in the future to hunt better detail
