Description

I shot S, H and O but liked the colors from the HOO combination best.

While I'm not crazy about the finished image, I did feel good about the -process- I used to add RGB stars to my narrow band image.

The first revision is HOO with narrow band stars - mostly white.

The second revision is HOO with stars removed by Straton.

The third and final revision is HOO with RGB stars replacing the narrow band ones.

Process used:

1) PixInsight: Split HOO image into R, G and B channels in PI. Save R, G and B frames.

2) Straton: Remove stars from HOO image R, G and B frames

3) PixInsight: Process RGB (or LRGB) to create RGB image

4) PixInsight: Use NBRGB Combination script to combine RGB image with HOO R, B and B frames

There was very little nebulosity in my RGB image so I was able to just combine it without masking or reducing the nebulosity. If there was a lot of nebulosity I would probably use a star mask so in the NBRGB Combination process I was not "doubling up" on the nebula in the final image.
