Description

M76 - Little Dumbbell Nebula

One of the faintest objects on in the Messier catalogue, discovered in 1780 by Pierre Méchain. It is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Perseus and lies approximately 2500 light years away and only 1.2 light years across.
