Description

Eos77d at Iso1600, 1min subs, Canon 100-400L-II at 300mm open f/5.

The little planetary NGC2438 is in the foreground, its central star is a white dwarf of mag 17.7 and older than M46 itself. Further north from there, about 2x M46's diameter, you also can find dim an reddish PN Minkowski M 1-18.
