Description

NGC 2403 is a magnitude 8.9 spiral galaxy in Camelopardalis. It is located 8 million light years away and is a member of the M81 Group of galaxies. It contains many star-forming regions, which show up red in the image and young star clusters, which show up as blue.

Optics: RGB: Celestron EdgeHD 1100

Mount: RGB: Paramount MX

Camera: RGB:Sbig STL-11000

Guiding: Self-guided/ONAG

Exposure: LRGB: L:30x16 min R:16x10 min, G:21x10 min, B:21x10 min for a total of 17.7 hrs.

Processing: Image acquisition using Maxim DL and CCD Autopilot. The Lum and RGB color images were created in Maxim with final processing in Photoshop.
