Description

This was a surprising salvage project. I was about to capture data on these and suddenly remembered that I had before but couldn't think of why I hadn't finished processing it. Turns out I had a compete set of data from this time last year where half of the subs were rotated about 90 degrees from the rest due to my camera slipping on the threads. That, and the red channel data was total garbage. I'd resigned myself to collecting all new data - couldn't process it without calibration problems, rotation artifacts, and halos. With all the cloudy skies lately I decided to take another whack at it with some new tools in my toolbox since last year. This was a long process with lots of PS wizardry, but fun, and I'm happy with the detail in the galaxies despite the data issues and mediocre seeing conditions. I was hoping to pull out more color but these are tough buggers to saturate. Beautiful structure in these, a marvelous pair, and some background goodies too!
