Description

Messier 88 (M88, NGC 4501) is a magnitude 10.4 spiral galaxy in Coma Berenices. It is located about 50 million light years away and resides in the Virgo cluster of galaxies.

Date: Mar 16-18 2018

Location: New Ringgold PA

Optics: LUM: Starizona Hyperion f/8 12.5 inch, FL 2540 mm

Mount: LUM: Paramount ME

Camera: LUM: Apogee U8300

Optics: RGB: Celestron EdgeHD 1100

Mount: RGB: Paramount MX

Camera: RGB:Sbig STL-11000

Guiding: Self-guided/ONAG

Exposure: LRGB: L:24x20 min R:13x10 min, G:15x10 min, B:23x10 min for a total of 16.5 hrs.

Processing: Image acquisition using Maxim DL and CCD Autopilot. The Lum and RGB color images were created in Maxim with final processing in Photoshop.
