Description

We seldom pay much attention to the intersection of the ecliptic and the galactic equator. This mosaic photograph, made of three photos taken in March 16th, March 19th and March 24th, clearly shows that Mars travels through the galactic equator along the ecliptic, between the Lagoon Nebula and the Trifid Nebula.
