Description

Taken in the beautiful region of La Creuse in France last week in a Bortle 2 area that is within the "Parque natural regional de Millevaches". The park has recently been designated as International Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA).

The difference between this location and where I live in Switzerland (rural area that is heavily light polluted by cities with 40-50 km range and the public lights in my village) is impressive. Even without optical equipment on any given clear night you can see around 2'000 stars - in comparison you would see only 70 stars in Paris (Source: https://www.cieletespace.fr/actualites/le-parc-naturel-de-millevaches-devient-la-nouvelle-reserve-de-ciel-etoile-francaise)

The place is magical and I'm planning on another visit later this year.
