Description

This object is an inclined spiral galaxy located 70 million light years away in the constellation of Canes Venatici. Even though it only appears to us to be 5 minutes across, the galaxy is fairly large, about the same size as our Milky Way.

Most striking to me about this object are the dark dust lanes, especially the long distinct lane towards the bottom left side of the galaxy. This lane appears to wrap about halfway around the circumference. Bright blue star clusters are clearly visible throughout the galaxy. The core is small and bright, and has been described as "star-like".
